Alberta's Advantage
Nature's
Nutraceuticals is situated just east of the Rocky Mountains
in Alberta, Canada. Our flax and hemp is of a superior quality
than most any others because of the following advantages:
 |
Alberta
is one of the last pristine frontiers in Canada. We are
located east of the Rockies on the edge of the vast virgin
prairies, with glacial and mountain streams flowing across
the land. |
 |
Our
long summer days (light until 11:00 p.m.) produce high
nutrient content in our products. |
 |
Our
products are grown, organically certified, and cold-pressed
under a nitrogen blanket. |
 |
Hemp
is a difficult oil to find in the USA because it is illegal
to grow there. It's nutritional value however is undisputed
among the health community. |
 |
Hemp
and flax grown in Alberta is of a superior quality because
our cold season helps control bugs and parasites. We do
not use pesticides and herbicides and our cold weather
kills unwanted critters. |
 |
Our
Alberta soil is a young, unpolluted, fresh soil fed with
mountain water and crisp, clean air. |
 |
Our
prices are extremely competitive. |
Health Benefits
In
order to keep things simple, we developed five fact sheets
that we think are imperative to communicate to our customers.
They will be found, in greater or lesser degree, throughout
our Web site, taught to our dealers, and emphasized in all
our literature. They are:
1. The Essentials
2. Flax and Hemp Oil: “The Nutritionist's
Dream”
3. The Facts About Bad Fats
4. The Facts About Good Fats
5. Organic Oils vs Conventional Oils
We
hope that an overview of these sheets will give each customer
not only necessary information, but also incentive to incorporate
our product into their daily diets.
The
Essentials
A quick health lesson:
Did you know that our bodies require approximately 50 essential
nutrients to be healthy? They are:
 |
2
Essential fatty acids (EFA’s) |
 |
8
essential amino acids (10 for children) |
 |
13
essential vitamins |
 |
20-21
essential minerals |
 |
a
source of energy (food) |

All
of us want to be healthy. Sometimes all the information and
literature gets confusing. With the overwhelming amount of
information out there, we think we need to be a medical doctor
or nutritionist to figure it all out.
Well
here’s a good and simple place to start: if you want
a nutritional program that will help you to build and maintain
good health, it is important that you have optimum amounts
of the essential nutrients listed above. If your diet contains
plenty of the above, your body has all it needs to keep you
healthy.
We
at Nature’s Nutraceuticals specialize in processing
the first ingredient on this list, the 2 essential fatty acids.
When we hear the word “fat” most of us think it
is something we need to stay away from. However, you can see
that it is important that we have at least 2 fatty acids.
The problem in the North American diet is that we are getting
the wrong kind of fats. We pride ourselves in producing LNA
and LA in just the right quantities to give you your 2 essential
fatty acids. Two tablespoons of our flax and hemp oil will
give you just what you need. Read on to find out more about
these 2 essential fatty acids.
Flax
and Hemp Oil – "The Nutritionist's Dream"
There
are 2 essential fatty acids that our body does not produce,
but must have. These 2 fatty acids are called LA and LNA.
Essential
fatty acids are absolutely necessary for the human body. Fatty
acids are essential for the building and maintenance of healthy
cells. That is why they are called “essential”
fatty acids. Essential fatty acid attracts oxygen to the body
much like a magnet pulls iron filings. Viruses and bacteria
cannot thrive in the presence of oxygen.
However,
since the human body cannot make these acids it must get them
from a food source. A blend of hemp and flax oil, in just
the right ratio, gives your body this nutritious balance.
Hemp oil is an excellent source of Linoleic Acid (LA) and
flax oil is an excellent source of Linolenic-Acid (LNA).
This is why we at Nature’s Nutraceuticals bottle these
2 oils together. It is important to take just the right amounts
of these fatty acids. If you take too much of one kind of
fatty acid, it can actually deplete the body of the other
essential fatty acid. That is why it is so important to have
a balanced intake of the EFA’s. A combination of flax
and hemp oil is "The Nutritionist’s Dream”
in that it produces a perfect combination of the essential
“Omega 3 and 6” acids along with GLA, another
essential fatty acid. All of your EFA’s are in perfect
balance through our product.
The
Facts About Bad Fats
Did you know?
 |
There
are good fats and bad fats. |
 |
Destructive
processes such as frying, deep-frying or hydrogenation
cause bad fats. |
 |
According
to the Harvard School of Public Health, hydrogenation
(the process used to produce margarine, shortening, and
partially hydrogenated vegetable oils) kills at least
30,000 people in the United States every year. Frying
fats increases the risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease. |
 |
When
we subject oils to unnatural processes like frying, hydrogenation,
etc. (the process used to make most junk food) these oils
actually become toxic and do serious harm to our bodies. |
 |
Bad
fats have been linked to depression and a general lack
of well-being. |
 |
Bad
fats have also been linked to poor digestion and decreased
bowel regularity. |
 |
The
body stores an excess of bad fats in the form of body
fat. This is one of the major causes of obesity and being
overweight. |
 |
The
wrong kind of fat has been shown to increase levels of
cholesterol in the blood. |
 |
Excess
consumption of the wrong kind of fat is thought to be
one of the leading killers of North Americans. |
 |
Degenerative
diseases: the 1988 Surgeon General Report on Nutrition
and Health concluded that 15 out of every 21 deaths in
the US involve nutrition. Deficiencies, excesses or imbalances
in fats are involved in 70%
or more of all US deaths. If caught in time, most degenerative
conditions are reversible with improved nutrition and
detoxification. |

these facts frighten you? Then read on!
The
Facts About Good Fats
Did you know?
 |
Over
a long period of time, a no-fat diet will kill a person
and a low-fat diet could make someone very sick. The human
body must have good fats. |
 |
Some
oils reduce the risk of heart attack. |
 |
Some
oils foster emotional well-being. |
 |
Certain oils reduce the risk of certain metabolic disorders
such as diabetes. |
 |
Some
oils are a natural anti-inflammatory and help reduce the
effects of rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s Disease,
and even osteoporosis. |
 |
The
right oils are shown to rapidly decrease elevated blood
levels of both LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol. |
 |
The
right oils help produce healthy skin, hair, and nails. |
 |
Some
oils are likely to be stored as body fat while others
are quickly burned as fuel. |
 |
Good
fats are called essential fatty acids. They are absolutely
necessary for good health. |
 |
The
human body does not produce these good fats. These must
be derived from a food source. |
 |
A
combination of different fats (EFAs or essential fatty
acids) is necessary for optimum health. Too much of one
causes a deficiency in another, and vice versa. |
 |
The
two most important essential fatty acids are called Linolenic
Acid (LNA) and Linoleic Acid (LA). |
 |
These
fats are found in perfect combination in Nature’s
Nutraceuticals flax and hemp oil.
|
Organic
Oils vs. Conventional Oils
 |
Conventional
oils can be hazardous to your health. |
 |
The
process of heating oil alters its chemical composition.
This altering can be toxic to your body, and in fact recent
findings have confirmed the presence of carcinogenic compounds
in oils that are fried or cooked. |
 |
The
process of hydrogenation also alters the chemical composition
of oil, again causing it to be toxic. |
 |
Light,
oxygen, and heat all do damage to oils. |
 |
Nearly
all conventional oils have been heated improperly . |
 |
Oils
should be fresh and consumed within about six months after
opening. |
What
you should look for:
 |
Dark,
opaque containers. These ensure that no light has destroyed
the oil. |
 |
Cold-pressed
oils: oils that have not been processed over a temperature
of 50°C. Remember that heat beyond this alters the
oil’s natural composition. |
 |
Oxygen-free
containers. |
 |
Oils
that are grown and processed from a northern climate. |
 |
Fast
distribution methods. |
 |
In
the course of the processing, it is necessary to maintain
a nitrogen blanket throughout the entire extraction to
bottling activities. |
 |
An
expiry date printed on the label. |
